We feel that every country should have this same goal in mind for themselves. If all countries worked to be the best they can be, then the world would experience dramatic positive change. Poverty would lessen, hunger would disappear, humanity would prosper, education levels would rise, health levels and longevity would improve, the environment would flourish, love and respect would grow, and innovation would explode.
Putting one’s country first is not a selfish motivation as it does not mean stepping on others in order to move ahead. Putting one’s country first means having a focus on the local in a positive manner. Putting one’s country first is not saying we are better than you, it is saying we want to be the best we can be and in doing so others can also benefit. In war there is a term called collateral damage, which means others are negatively affected beyond the original target. With a country first perspective the opposite can be true. With a country first objective there can be collateral improvement that creates positive change for the whole world through a local focus.
Putting one’s country first means taking a long-term look and not always taking the immediate steps to move one’s self forward if by doing so it pushes others back or causes harm. This does not put one’s country first as the long-term fallout may in fact be more damaging than the short-term benefit.

Conservative Principles are based on a wholistic view of good whereas liberal principles are based on self-centeredness and motivations down to the individual level.
