At Return Red we think it is important to have an open and honest discussion with regards to what is known as Section 230 and the 1st Amendment of the US Constitution. We feel that other social platforms have had the full right to censor the information on their sites. Make no mistake we will do the same.
Where we feel other platforms have gone wrong is in misleading people about their information and intent. Many have said that they respect the open opinions of everyone when this was in fact a lie. The lie was not revealed in the fact that they do censor but instead what they choose to censor.
Telling someone they have aright to say anything they wish and then censoring what they say is the height of dishonesty. So why do they do it? The truth is the vast majority of social networks sell advertising space based on the number of users they have. If they are honest with their users about what they are going to censor their signup numbers will naturally be lower and their ad revenue will naturally be less. They were corrupted by the idea of profit over honesty. Funny how the left hates Capitalism and Democracy, except when it benefits them. Theirs truly is a double standard.
At Return Red we find it to be rich that the same companies that have misled their users in order to get them to sign up are now attempting to be the same ones in control of government legislation dictating what kind of speech is acceptable not only on their platform but ALL platforms. These same companies are speaking about the virtues of transparency while in the same trial proceedings telling politicians and judges they can’t speak to their practices in open but that such conversations need to be held in private behind closed doors. While many are in the pockets of Big Tech and have capitulated to these requests other have been strong to deny them in an attempt to have those listening understand what is really going on. So, in the interest of true transparency at Return Red we are using this notice to layout exactly what we expect of our users, WHAT WILL GET THEIR CONTENT CENSORED OR REMOVED, how our users can post their content responsibly, and how together under such understanding all Return Red platform users can have the best possible experience.
We have often heard the argument against censoring framed in such a way that it is against the 1st Amendment. If this is your belief you should know that in the context of social platforms, YOU ARE WRONG. How so? At Return Red just like all private businesses the 1st Amendment to the US Constitution does not apply. The 1st Amendment applies only to citizens and their rights to speak freely not that any private business is required to listen or obliged to have to also extend that right to their private services. Just like a television station, radio channel, or print publication is not required to post or allow you to post your beliefs under their platforms the same rights extend to other businesses including social platforms.
Before today you may have been wringing your hands and worrying then how can I ever share in my Conservative beliefs and opinions. That is until now. Now you have found the answer in Return Red.
What should give you great comfort is to know that the same laws that allowed other Big Tech companies to censor and suppress your beliefs gives Return Red the same power to deny those of a liberal persuasion to do the same.
Those that have argued for the elimination of what is known as Section 230, because they have had their voice censored and squelched have not realized the context of the problem and how to use the same laws to their advantage. This is like saying the NFL should be sued because they do not allow players to throw baseballs instead of footballs on the field. If you know the game the argument sounds silly. Worse yet it gives the rival advantage over you.
Understanding the context of the problem and how to use the laws to one’s favor, instead of claiming the rules that are enforced are unfair, is the first step to playing the game correctly. Once one truly understands the rules, they can then proceed to beating the opposition under the same set of rules they are governed by. Yes, the same set of rules you feel they have used to hold back your opportunities at winning. Time to stop the belly aching and crying and learn the rules.
Now that you understand it has nothing to do with the 1st Amendment or abuse of Section 230 the next step is to understand what is Section 230, and how can you now use it to your advantage? It is time to learn the real rules of the game so you can now play to win.

So now that we know the rules on a general level it is time to understand the rules of the Return Red platform, so it can be used in your efforts to share your message and to beat the liberals at what has been up to this point “their own game”.
At Return Red our goal is to follow the sprit of the 1st Amendment as close as possible to the extent it does not interfere with out own policies and objectives.
By following these rules, you can be sure that your content will not be censored, you will not be suspended or banned, your message will have not only an audience but the RIGHT audience. And unlike other platforms such as 8Chan and Parler, who thought they were exempt from all decency standards, together we will not have the same risk of being pulled off the internet all together.
First, lets start with respect. Respect people even when they have a different opinion, especially if they are in the same Conservative camp. To RIGHT the nation, we must learn to first work together. Egregious disrespect will get you censored or banned on Return Red.
Second, work to keep vulgarity to a minimum. The moment you lose your cool and begin speaking with potty mouth is the moment you start losing the debate. We understand trash mouth has become second nature to many. As the writer of this article, I will be the first to admit I can and should do better in my everyday speech with others. We are all sinners in the eyes of the Lord, but it is within our power to choose righteousness over sin. Those that choose to use cuss words and other defamatory speech as the norm take great risk at having their content censored or banned on Return Red.
Third, promoting ANYTHING illegal puts you at risk of being censored or banned on Return Red.
Fourth, promoting violence puts you at risk of being censored or banned on Return Red.
Fifth, doxing, which is defined as searching and publishing the private information of others with malicious intent, puts you at risk of being censored or banned on Return Red.
Sixth, we all know that blowhard keyboard warrior that feels protected behind their internet virtual wall. These types of people go about trashing others, always having negative things to say, dismissing other’s opinions in the most dishonoring and rude ways. Don’t be that cyber bully. Doing so puts you at risk of being censored or banned on Return Red.
Seventh, don’t take the credit for others work. Doing so puts you at risk of being censored or banned on Return Red.
Eighth, when you have a theory work to back it up with links and other supporting evidence. One of the biggest tools the liberal left has used against Conservatives is their unfettered use of the terms “Conspiracy Theory” and “Misleading Information”. The best way to combat this is to show your thoughts and perceptions are based on logical concepts and information. The best way to show this logic is to back it up with sources whenever possible. In general, we will not censor opinions, concepts, etc. However, if there is a proven track record of intended deceit or consistent lack of ability to justify your perceptions this does put you a risk of being censored or banned on Return Red. In such cases we will work to reach out to you to try and better understand your position and to provide advice on how you can best support your cause and position. While we will try and help, we also realize some people are too far gone, they are simply unable to grasp reality, and as such are not a good fit for the Return Red platform.
Ninth, posting of sexualized content. Return Red is not intended to promote lust, envy, jealousy, vanity or any of the other (mostly negative) emotions that go along with sexualized content. Return Red is not interested in hosting content that supports material of a sexualized nature either in visual or written form. This includes cleavage shots, sultry photos, overt mentions about one’s sex, sexual proclivities, sexual orientation, etc. While we realize that some content may be related to topics of gender, such as ongoing legislation, it is highly discouraged to post such content in anything other than a fact-based manner. As a matter of respect, you should not impose personal preferences, disparaging remarks, hyperbole, opinion, etc. Such content is often divisive in nature, which goes against Return Reds goal of unification. Posting such content puts you at risk of being censored or banned on Return Red.
Tenth, posting of overtly discriminatory or disparaging content that is in reference to one’s race, age, disability, ethnicity, religion, wealth, social class, education level, or sexual orientation. This includes any content that may be self-referencing. While some people choose to use disparaging remarks in reference to themselves or related classes this causes conflicts in other classes when such references can not be used in equal tone and manner. If such terminology cannot be used across the board by all individuals without anyone taking offense, then it is likely inappropriate. Posting such content puts you at risk of being censored or banned on Return Red.
Eleventh, empowering or colluding with others to act in inappropriate ways. Doing so puts you at risk of being censored or banned on Return Red.
Finally, number Twelve. Disparaging Return Red in any way. Yep, that is a good way to get censored or banned on Return Red.
